Recognition to Engineering scholars for excellence in research and teaching

Congratulations to Professor Anderson Shum of Department of Mechanical Engineering for HKU Outstanding Researcher Award, Professor Tong Zhang of Department of Civil Engineering for HKU Innovator Award and Professor Mingxin Huang of Department of Mechanical Engineering for Research Output Prize. The awards are to recognise outstanding Faculty members whose innovations demonstrate exceptionally high potential impact (legacy or projected legacy) with transformative results to foster development.
Research cluster focusing on sustainable growth and energy

Even before the holding of the Climate Summit in November 2021, sustainable energy had long been a buzz word, attracting huge attention worldwide. At HKU, sustainable energy engineering is among the two major streams of the environmental research cluster, with the other stream being water environmental engineering.

Dr Zhiqin Chu of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Dr Ji Tae Kim of Department of Mechanical Engineering had worked on a research for the topic “On-Demand, Direct Printing of Nanodiamonds at the Quantum Level”. The research has been published by Advanced Science on February 14, 2022.
