Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme	Initial Application to Research Grants Council (RGC): September 1, 2024 (HKT 12:00 noon or GMT +8 hours) - December 1, 2024 (HKT 12:00 noon or GMT +8 hours) Full Application to HKU: September 1, 2024 - December 1, 2024 (HKT 23:59 or GMT +8 hours)
Main Round	September 1, 2024 - December 1, 2024 (HKT 23:59 or GMT +8 hours)
1st Clearing Round	December 2, 2024 - April 30, 2025 (HKT 23:59 or GMT +8 hours)
2nd Clearing Round	May 1, 2025 - August 31, 2025 (HKT 23:59 or GMT +8 hours)

How to Apply

Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS)

Applications for the HKPF usually fall between early September and early December each year.
Eligible candidates should first make an Initial Application online through the HKPF Electronic System (HKPFSES) before submitting applications for PhD admission to their desired institutions.
The submission deadline for HKPFS applications in 2025-26 is December 1, 2024.

MPhil and PhD Programmes

Step 1	Search for potential supervisor(s) (contact details and brief introduction of teaching staff are also available in the departmental websites).
Step 2	Discuss the proposed research areas with the potential supervisor(s) before submitting application.
Step 3	Submit the application through the Online Application System for PhD and MPhil Admission.
