The Faculty of Engineering will organise the Faculty-based in-person 215th Congregation on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Grand Hall of Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre, The University of Hong Kong. Degrees will be conferred to graduands from different programmes in four sessions.
Graduands will be assigned to one of the sessions according to their respective programme. The detailed arrangements of the ceremony will be announced to registered graduands.
Registration Instructions
- Eligible graduands will be invited to register themselves and their guests in early October 2025 through the online registration system. Please ensure all information provided is accurate, as it will be used for verification purposes. No modifications will be accepted once the registration period has closed.
- Graduands must register for either the virtual or in-person Congregation, but not both. Candidates who cannot attend either the virtual or in-person Congregation will be conferred their degrees in absentia at the assigned in-person Congregation.
- Please regularly check your @connect.hku.hk email for updates from the Faculty.
- Registration is tentatively scheduled from Friday, October 3, 2025, to Sunday, October 19, 2025. The exact registration time will be stated in the Congregation notification email to eligible graduands.
Please note that late registration will not be accepted.
Ticket Arrangement
- Each graduand may request up to two guest tickets for the in-person session.
- A confirmation email with the event admission QR codes for both graduands and guests will be sent to those successfully registered and eligible to graduate by mid-November. Each graduand will be allocated a seat number, which will be indicated on the admission ticket.
- On the event day, graduands and guests must present the admission QR code for registration at the designated area near the Grand Hall before entering.
- In view of number of graduands and the limited capacity at the Grand Hall, seats in the Grand Hall will be allocated to graduands first. It is expected that most guests will be seated in live broadcast venues near the Grand Hall. Priority for seating in the Grand Hall is based on the graduand’s registration date and time. The assigned seating venue will be shown on guest admission tickets.
Virtual Congregation
- The virtual Congregation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
- Broadcasting links will be sent to registered virtual Congregation graduands in early November.
- Graduands may participate in either the virtual or in-person Congregation, but not both.
- Graduands who require early issuance of their graduation certificate (prior to the in-person ceremony) should choose the virtual session.
- Details on certificate collection will be announced on the HKU Congregation website.
Important Notes
- Graduands are assigned to the Congregation nearest to the completion date of their studies for the conferral of degrees.
- Candidates who are unable to attend either the virtual or in-person Congregation will be conferred their degrees in absentia at the in-person Congregation.
- Arrangements for certificate collection for the Class of 2025 will be announced on the “Certificate” page of the HKU Congregation website: https://www4.hku.hk/congreg/ in due course.
