Outstanding Paper Award in IEEE TALE2020
Dr. K.S. Lui, Dr. K.H. Lam, Dr. Vincent Tam, Mr. E. Lau (former research assistant), Mr. J. Ng (former research assistant) of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Dr. Leon Lei of the Technology-Enriched Learning Initiative, and Dr. T.K.H. Hew of the Faculty of Education have received the Outstanding Paper Awards in “Designing an Autonomous Vehicle System Design Course for COVID-19 Remote Learning under First Principles of Instruction Framework” presented in IEEE International Conference on Teaching, Assessment, and Learning for Engineering 2020.

Young Professional Award 2020 in robotics flagship conference
Dr. Kwok Ka Wai of the Department of Mechanical Engineering received the IROS Toshio Fukuda Young Professional Award 2020 for his contributions to the advancement of magnetic resonance imaging guided robotic systems.
The IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2020)is one of the largest and most impacting robotics research conferences worldwide. Established in 1988 and held annually, IROS provides an international forum for the international robotics research community to explore the frontier of science and technology in intelligent robots and smart machines.
