With the support from the Asia Pacific Industrial Engineering Management Society (APIEMS), the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) hosted the 19th Asia Pacific Industrial Engineering and Management Systems Conference (APIEMS 2018) from December 5 to 8, 2018. It was attended by nearly 400 participants from all over the world with more than 300 papers were received.
The Conference provided a platform for researchers to exchange ideas and have in-depth discussion upon theoretical and practical issues in the field of industrial engineering and management. We were honoured to have Professor Christopher Tang of UCLA, Professor Jacob Chen of Foxconn, Professor Wang Lihui of KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Professor He Zhen of Tianjin University and Professor Rong Yiming of the Southern University of Science and Technology as the keynote speakers. Furthermore, five editors-in-chief hosted a forum and interactive discussions were resulted. In addition, Professor Jacob Chen donated a scholarship to the Department for cultivating talents in industrial engineering.
