Professor Leroy Gardner from the Imperial College London delivered a keynote entitled “Progress Through Technology – The Future of Metal 3D Printing in Construction”. Professor Gardner traced the evolution of metal additive manufacturing for structural applications, highlighting material behaviour, component optimisation, and full-scale case studies. He showcased pioneering achievements, including the world’s first fully functional metal 3D‑printed bridge, and outlined a roadmap for resilient, resource‑efficient infrastructure enabled by industry collaboration.
