a) HKU Team Secures the Third Class Honour in RAICOM National Final's "Treasure Hunter - Semi-Autonomous Mission"
A team of undergraduate students from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) has claimed Third Class Honour in the “Treasure Hunter – Semi-Autonomous Mission” category at the RAICOM (Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition) National Final, held in August 2025 in Hangzhou.

The winning team comprised Lo Tsz Kit Adi (BEng ME Year 3), Chiu Sin Chun Jason (BASc (Applied AI) Year 5), Ahmed, Fahim (BEng CE Year 2), and KHAN, Saleha (BEng BME Year 3). The team was co-supervised by Dr Match Ko and Dr Yan Wei from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The RAICOM National Final brought together 45 top universities from across China. The “Treasure Hunter – Semi-Autonomous Mission” challenged participants to design and deploy intelligent robotic systems capable of navigating complex environments and complete semi-autonomous mission with minimal human intervention. Their achievement demonstrated outstanding technical skills and creativity in tackling the mission.
b) Ms Fung Tsoi Ying (CivE 3) has been awarded BEAM Society Prize in Green Building Excellence 2023-24.
Ms Fung Tsoi Ying, an undergraduate student from Department of Civil Engineering has been awarded the BEAM Society Prize in Green Building Excellence 2023-24.
The BEAM Society Prize in Green Building Excellence recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional performance and contributions to advancing a sustainable built environment.
