Professor Feng Gao of the Linkoping University delivered the William Mong Distinguished Lecture titled “Sustainable Development of Next-Generation Solar Cells and LEDs” on May 20, 2025. The lecture was facilitated by Professor Wallace Choy, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
During the lecture, Professor Gao delved into the world of perovskite solar cells, Professor Gao highlighted their transformative potential in sustainable optoelectronics. He discussed their high efficiency, enhanced stability, and broad applications. Further, he introduced an exciting initiative by his team to develop a green solvent-based recycling process. This innovative approach aims to reclaim valuable materials from perovskite photovoltaic waste cost-effectively and sustainably, tackling significant global energy and environmental issues.
