HKU Engineering shined in the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva

HKU triumphed at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, winning a total of 19 awards, including two special grand prizes Invention & Innovation CAI Award (China Delegation), and Prize of the Delegation of Malaysia. Among the 19 awards, our faculty members had bagged 9 of them.  

Below is the awardees’ list:

Invention title: Artificial Intelligence MGF Network for Anomalies Detection

Faculty member: Dr Wilton Fok, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Awards: Invention & Innovation CAI Award (China Delegation), Prize of the Delegation of Malaysia and Gold Medal

 

Invention title: Programmable Cell Niche Engineering Platform

Faculty member: Professor Barbara Chan, Department of Mechanical Engineering

Award: Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury

 

Invention title: PERfECT Wearables for Digital Health

Faculty member: Dr Shiming Zhang, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Award: Gold Medal

 

Invention title: DipμChip – Capillary Microfluidic Platform for Point-of-care Diagnostics

Faculty members: Professor Anderson H.C. Shum and Dr Hassan Sammer Ui, Department of Mechanical Engineering

Award: Gold Medal

 

Invention title: Ultra-thin Flexible Robotic Instruments for Endoluminal Surgery

Award: Silver Medal

 

Invention title: Automatic Alignment of Microparticles
