Feb 23, 2023

Congratulations to our student teams, The Design, Build & Fly (DBF), of Department of Mechanical Engineering for winning the championship and first runner-up at the British Model Flying Association 2022 University and Schools Payload Challenges.

The competition was held by The British Model Flying Association in partnership with the Royal Aeronautical Society. Our student teams participated in the 2022 Payload Challenge 5 (weight) in June 2022 in Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. Competing teams were required to design and build an RC plane that can carry the highest payload with the highest speed as well. Among 17 teams from all over the world, our two DBF teams won the championship and the 1st runner-up respectively.
