2020/21 HKU-SCF FinTech Scholarship

The HKU-SCF Scholarships were offered to eight HKU students studying the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Financial Technology (BASc (FinTech)) programme for the 2020/21 academic year, each at the value of HK$50,000, including one full scholarship of up to HK$200,000. Two of the awardees, Rain LEE Sze Choi and Eva LAI Mei Kwan, were interviewed.

Rain LEE Sze Choi (Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Financial Technology Year 1 student) received a full scholarship of up to HK$200,000 for four years.

Eva LAI Mei Kwan (Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Financial Technology Year 2 student) received a scholarship of HK$50,000.

First Engineering InnoShow at Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing

Organised by Innovation Academy, the Engineering InnoShow were scheduled to be held at the end of each semester, and where students can showcase their innovative projects and achievements to the peers and public as a way of knowledge exchange and giving back to the society.

The third Engineering InnoShow was conducted on November 27, 2020. This was the first time for  the InnoShow to be conducted at the Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing.

The project, “Breed Robotics, the world’s fastest Robotic Fish” has become the winner for the InnoShow Award.

Civil Engineering student team shortlisted in International Top 20 for James Dyson Award

The final year project “New Geo-material for Reclamation – Coal Ash-hardened Marine Soil”  from HKU Department of Civil Engineering student SHIU Hoi Kit  had been shortlisted to the International Top 20 in James Dyson Award 2020.  

The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers.
