Professor Norman Ko donated HK$10M to establish Ko Wong Wai Ching Wendy Professorship in Fluid Dynamics

The Faculty was delighted to receive a donation of HK$10M by Professor Norman Ko Wah-man to establish Ko Wong Wai Ching Wendy Professorship in Fluid Dynamics. An inauguration of the endowed professorship was held on March 20, 2019.

Professor Ko is a world renowned expert in fluid dynamics and acoustics, a pioneer in the control of noise pollution in Hong Kong, and published extensively internationally, with more than 240 research papers to his name. He is a distinguished alumnus of this University, graduating from Mechanical Engineering in 1963. He was a chair professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering until his retirement in 2000. He was conferred with Honorary University Fellowship by the University in 2007. He is currently a HKU Emeritus Professor and an honorary professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
