Prof. A.H.W. Ngan was invited by Materials Research Society (MRS) to serve as one of the five Meeting Chairs in the MRS 2017 Spring Meeting, which was held successfully in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, from April 17 to 21, 2017. MRS Meetings are premier meetings in materials science and engineering. The MRS 2017 Spring Meeting offered more than 50 technical symposia with over 4000 attendees worldwide. Prof. Ngan is the first Hong Kong based scientist to be appointed as an MRS Meeting Chair. His appointment was published in the MRS Bulletin:
