Promotion to Associate Professors
Dr. OR Ka Lun Calvin, Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering
I am grateful to the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering for their appreciation of human factors science and healthcare engineering, and that’s why I had the opportunity to join them. A tenure journey needs support and mentorship, and I am thankful to the senior colleagues for it. My research works involve professions of various disciplines, and I am also thankful to my research collaborators for their support and collaboration.
Dr. HUANG Mingxin, Department of Mechanical Engineering
My research focuses on the development of new lightweight materials for automotive applications. I would like to take this opportunity to thank sincerely colleagues of the Department and Faculty and my RPg students for their great supports and encouragements in the past six years. I will continue to work hard and contribute as much as I can to the Department, Faculty and University in teaching, research and knowledge exchange for years to come.

It has been a real honor and pleasure to serve in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering Programme and the Faculty of Engineering in the past few years. I am really grateful for the continuous support, advice, guidance, understanding, tolerance and help from colleagues at all level and students. Prof. THAM L.G. as Associate Dean (Quality Assurance and Special Projects)
Dr. CHEUNG K.C. as Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Admissions)
I am honoured to be appointed as Assistant Dean to look after undergraduate admissions. Every year, we admit close to 600 students to our Bachelor of Engineering study programmes. These students come from diverse backgrounds. About 60% are from local schools, 20% from post-secondary institutions, and another 20% from outside of Hong Kong. To interview and select suitable students to our study programmes is not an easy task. I am fortunate to have dedicated teachers in the Engineering Admissions Committee and highly efficient staff in the Faculty Office to help with various tasks involved in undergraduate admissions.
