The HKU JUPAS Information Week 2021 was held between 24 to 28 May, 2021 by the University and the Faculty of Engineering had conducted the JUPAS Info Session on May 26, 2021 for the JUPAS applicants. On the day, the Faculty had arranged both virtual admissions talks and physical visits to Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing and Engineering labs tour to let students have a better understanding about HKU Engineering.
Virtual admissions talks:
Talk 1: Updates on HKU Engineering Undergraduate Programmes
Professor Edmund Y.M. Lam, previous Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning - UG), of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering had shared the latest information about the Engineering programmes, such as programmes overview, career prospect, and the intake requirements.
Talk 2: How is Financial Technology Changing the World
Dr Allen Au, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science had shared what Financial Technology (FinTech) is about, why do we need FinTech, and how FinTech enhance existing business flow.
After the talks, there were also Q&A and sharing sessions with existing students. All the 5 Departments in the Faculty had set up breakout rooms in Zoom to answer enquires.
Physical lab tour:
Followed by the virtual admission talks, the Faculty had arranged the physical lab tours. Pre-registered students had a chance to visit our world-class facilities including the new iconic landmark of the Faculty of Engineering “Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing” and various laboratories in relevant Departments. During their visits, students also had the opportunity to see the latest research achievements and technologies in Faculty of Engineering.
