Civil Engineering scholars received high ranks among PRC researchers in Geological & Geomatics Engineering from the world

Professor Quentin Z.Q. Yue and Professor Yang Jun of Department of Civil Engineering received high ranks among PRC scientists in Geological & Geomatics Engineering from the world published by Fuzhou University according to the data of the World’s Top 2% most-cited scientists by Stanford University.
Stanford University, together with the publishing house Elsevier and SciTech Strategies, have created a ranking of 2% of the best scientists in the world. They divided the list into 2 categories “Career-long citation impact up until the end of 2019 (from 1996 – 2019)” and “Citation impact during the single calendar year 2019”.
Career-long citation impact up until the end of 2019:
Among the 159,683 scientists, 924 of them are from the field of Geological & Geomatics Engineering and 67 of them are from PRC. Professor Yue ranked 16.
Citation impact during the single calendar year 2019:
Among the 161,441 scientists, 938 of them are from the field of Geological & Geomatics Engineering and 147 of them are from PRC. Professor Yang ranked 11.

Computer Science Professor received Amazon Research Award 2020
Professor Wu Chuan of Department of Computer Science received the 2020 Amazon Research Awards (ARA) in the research area of "Applied Machine Learning" with her work titled "Compilation optimization in distributed DNN training: joining OP and tensor fusion/partition". Among the 101 awardees, Professor Wu is the only awardee of Hong Kong. ARA is a program that provides unrestricted funds and Amazon Web Service promotional credits to academic researchers investigating research topics across a number of disciplines.
