The annual awards for research excellence under the Outstanding Researcher Awards Scheme and the Research Output Prize aim to recognise, honour and reward exceptional work in research by staff of the University. Various engineering academics were awarded the Outstanding Researcher and Outstanding Young Researcher.
Outstanding Researcher Award
Professor Zhang Tong, Department of Civil Engineering
This award is presented to candidates for their exceptional research accomplishments of international merit, giving recognition to experienced academics who have amassed impressive bodies of work.
Outstanding Young Researcher Award
Dr Yue Chen and Dr Ka Wai Kwok, Department of Mechanical Engineering
This award gives recognition to young researchers who are demonstrating extremely high-quality research. Candidates must be below the age of 40.
