HKU Racing Team was excited to meet with Mr Mark Preston, the team principal of DS TECHEETAH Formula E Racing Team.
The HKU Racing Team (HKUR) was being formed by more than 30 HKU engineering students since September 2018. The team consists of seven divisions and is planning to take part in the Formula Student Class 2 competition in July 2019, joining other teams from top universities around the world.
The team was honoured to invite Mr Mark Preston, the team principal of DS TECHEETAH Formula E Racing Team, to share his experience in motorsports on March 7, 2019. Mr Preston has been actively participated in the industry for more than 20 years, working with top teams in motorsports such as McLaren and Super Aguri F1 in Formula One. He visited Hong Kong with the DS TECHEETAH Racing Team who competed for the HKT Hong Kong E-Prix on March 10, 2019. Despite of sharing his experience, Mr Preston also gave advice to the team on electric racing car design which were very beneficial for the team to prepare for the competition in July.
Besides, HKUR had a very precious opportunity to visit the garage of DS TECHEETAH Formula E Racing Team during the HKT Hong Kong E-Prix. HKUR not only had a closer look of the state-of-the-art Formula E racing car, but also met with the team engineers and advisor who were enthusiastic in sharing and explaining the key design of their racing car.
The team has a very precious opportunity to visit the garage of DS TECHEETAH Formula E Racing Team during the HKT Hong Kong E-Prix.
