Homecoming of Civil Engineering Class of 1978
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of their graduation, a group of Class of 1978 alumni of Civil Engineering visited their alma mater on June 22, 2018. After a short meeting with Professor Christopher Chao (Dean of Engineering) and Professor Francis Au (Head of Civil Engineering), the group was arranged to visit the Structural Engineering Lab and Environmental Biotechnology Lab to know more about the civil engineering education nowadays.

Engineering alumni were named Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering
Chair of Power Electronics Professor Ron Hui (right) met Dr Harry Shum Heung-yeung (2nd from the left) and Professor Luk Kwai-man (2nd from the right) at the New Fellows Dinner on October 2, 2018.
Dr Harry Shum Heung-yeung (MPhil, 1991) and Professor Luk Kwai-man (BSc (ENG) 1981, PhD 1995) were named as International Fellow and Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering respectively. All new Fellows are formally admitted to the Fellowship of the Academy through a ceremony during the New Fellows’ Dinner which was held in United Kingdom on October 2, 2018.
