The Hong Kong Robot Olympiad 2015
In order to promote science and technology among primary and secondary school students, the Faculty of Engineering has been working with the Hong Kong Robotic Olympic Association to organise the Hong Kong Robot Olympiad since 2007.
The Hong Kong Robot Olympiad 2015 was held on 2 May in the Flora Ho Sports Centre. Land-based events such as sprinting, tug-of-war, and free-fighting were held inside the Flora Ho Sports Hall. Downstairs near the kiosk, a water tank was set up for aquatic events. Robots built by students competed in breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, backstroke and medley relay events. To add some local flavour, robotic dragon-boat competitions were held as well.
Altogether 600 teams comprising of 310 students from 35 primary and secondary schools took part in this year’s Robot Olympiad.
