The Twelfth Lumb Lecture, titled "Risk Assessment and Management: Necessary Insights to Reduce Landslide Risk", was held on June 27, 2023 at the Rayson Huang Theatre of The University of Hong Kong by the Department of Civil Engineering. The lecture was delivered by Dr Suzanne Lacasse, an Expert Adviser in Natural Hazards at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute.
Established by the Department of Civil Engineering and the Geotechnical Engineering Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Lumb Lecture commemorated Professor Peter Lumb's contributions to the geotechnical engineering profession. It is delivered biennially by an internationally recognised expert in geotechnics.
