Dear Engineering RPg students,
You might have these questions come to mind:
- What am I going to attain? A degree? Knowledge? Career prospects? Friendship?
- How can I become a full-fledged professional after graduation?
- How can I better equip myself as an outstanding researcher?
- How to get a breakthrough?...
You are not the only one.
Traditionally, RPg students might think studying means individual learning, doing research on his/her own discipline only. It could be a limited and individual experience. With a view to creating a diverse and enriching experience for Engineering RPg students, Research Student Centre of Faculty of Engineering will launch a series of research-based and non-research-based activities, aim at:
- instilling a culture which embraces a dynamic learning and research environment,
- fostering interdisciplinary research collaborations,
- nurturing high-impact and innovative ideas exchange,
- promoting entrepreneurship,
- building strong networks,
- facilitating lifelong research and personal development, and
- creating an enjoyable research atmosphere with peer support.

Professor Norman C. Tien, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Professor David W.L. Cheung, Associate Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Dr. Barbara P. Chan, Associate Professor of Department of Mechanical Engineering, will explore with you the journey to a fulfilled and enjoyable research experience. You will also get to know your peers in a relaxed and fun atmosphere! Light refreshments will be served.
