MSc students shone in “Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools” 2018

A civil engineering postgraduate team comprised of Peter Siu Kwan Choi, Tommy Po Hon Wong, Michael Chun Ho Cheng and Andy Hing Ka Tang, won the Championship (First Prize) of the Postgraduate Division in an international earthquake engineering competition – the Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools (IDEERS) competition. In addition to the First Prize, the team won other 5 awards in this competition including the Innovation Award of Seismic Isolation and Energy Dissipation, Best Presentation Award, Best Structural (Engineering) Design, Best Architectural (Artistic) Design, Best Design Idea of Exhibits Award.

EEE student was awarded the IET Prize 2018

An EEE student supervised by Dr Y. Hou, won an award in HKIET Prize 2018. The ceremony was held on 21 September 2018.

  

Two EEE teams won Regional Prizes in the Schneider Electric: Go Green in the City Competition

Team “Victorious Secret” won the Regional Secord Prize in the Greater China Regional Final which was held in Beijing from August 27 to 29, 2018.

EEE students got excellent results in the “Go Green in the City” competition organized by Schneider Electric. Team “Victorious Secret”, comprised of Kelly Lu Zhaohan and Yeung Yip Yan (students of BEng (ElecE)), won the Regional Secord Prize in the Greater China Regional Final Competition, while “Wheel-Power” team led by Agnes Wong Ka Yee (BEng (EE)) got a Third Prize of the Greater China Region.
