IEEE Electromagnetics Award 2017 given to Prof. Weng Cho Chew

Prof. Weng Cho Chew, a Visiting Honorary Professor, at the Dept. of EEE was named the recipient of the 2017 IEEE Electromagnetics Award, for outstanding contributions to electromagnetics in theory, application, or education, with the following citation: "For contributions to electromagnetic solutions of complex multi-physics problems and inverse scattering methods.” This is a major IEEE technical achievement award shared by three IEEE Societies:  Antennas and Propagation, Microwave Theory and Technique, and Geoscience and Remote Sensing.

Presently, Prof. Chew is the First Y.T. Lo Endowed Chair Professor of ECE at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. He served as the Dean of Engineering at The University of Hong Kong from 2007 to 2011.
