The summer in 2016 was meaningful, busy and fun! Three teams of HKU Engineering students went to Sichuan, Tianjin and Vietnam for school reconstruction projects and robotics challenge programmes in June and July respectively.

Tianjin Robotic Challenge 2016

20 engineering students from the Departments of Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering joined the International Summer Interflow Programme from July 4 to July 23, 2016. The Programme was jointly organized by the HKU Faculty of Engineering and the Tianjin University under the China 1000 Exchange Programme supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China. The theme of the Programme was Robotics Challenge. Prof. Francis Lau, Associate Dean (Development and External Relations), was the guest of honor and gave an opening address in the opening ceremony on July 5, 2016. This programme gave HKU Engineering students not only an opportunity to learn practical knowledge on robot design and construction, but also let Hong Kong and Tianjin students exchange their cultures and share their university life.
