Definitions and Terminology

Each course offered for the BEng in Medical Engineering curriculum shall be classified as either introductory level course or advanced level course, and be assigned a Level --- One, Two, Three or Four, in which Level One and Two courses are generally classified as introductory courses whereas advanced courses includes Level Three and Four courses.

The Projects shall include MEDE3010 Integrated project and MEDE4010 Final-year project.

The training course in this curriculum consists of MEDE2020 Engineering training and MEDE3020 Professional training.


The normal load for a student is 60 credits of courses (excluding summer vacation) per academic year with 30 credits in each semester. Students are allowed to increase the loading by not more than 6 credits in a semester or decrease the loading by the equivalent number of credits which they have previously taken as additional loading and passed.
